Separated
Persons Association
The SPA was founded in 1978 and its aims are to assist those
whos relationships have broken down through seperation, divorce,
or bereavement.
We do this by:
1. Creating a social base where people can meet, share experiences,
heal themselves and have a normal and contented life again.
2. Through a series of discussion groups and one to one counselling
to define and understand our needs and feelings as separated people
3. To give advise and information on all matters relating to
the social and personal aspects of separation and marriage/family
breakdown
We hold an information and discussion group meeting every second
Monday of the month. On the last Monday of the month we have a
guest speaker to speak on matters relating to Social Welfare,
Legal Aid, Family Mediation etc.
On the first and third Mondays we meet in the Richmond Bar, Church
Street, Dublin 7, Phone 01. 8721561, for a drink and an informal
get together. We also have music and table quiz nights there.
Probably the most important benefit is that the SPA gives people
a social base where they can meet others in the same situation
and help to overcome the social difficulties of being separated
in a society made up primarily of young singles and married couples.
We look forward to meeting you.
Chairperson Mary Murphy is available to take your call , 01
4540206, most evening, Monday to Friday, between seven and eight
pm.
